Tree planting in Lethbridge

The right species, the right location, and correct planting practices for Southern Alberta conditions. Serving Lethbridge, Coaldale, Picture Butte, Fort Macleod, and Taber.

•Tree Planting

A tree planted right outlives the people who planted it.

Most trees that die young were killed at planting, buried too deep, root-bound from the pot, or simply the wrong species for a yard that gets chinooks in January and drought in July. Getting the first day right is most of the battle.

We plant for Southern Alberta reality: species that shrug off freeze-thaw swings, root flares at the right height, and a watering plan matched to this climate instead of the tag from a greenhouse two provinces away.

Planted by the people who prune them.

We spend the rest of the year fixing trees that were planted wrong. That’s the perspective your new tree gets on day one, planted by arborists who know exactly how it should look at year twenty.

•Why Plant Now

Reasons a tree goes in the ground.

Shade you’ll actually use

The best time to plant the tree that cools the deck was ten years ago. The second-best time is before another summer goes by.

Shelter on open lots

New builds and edge-of-town properties take the prairie wind head-on. The right shelter planting changes how a yard feels year-round.

Replacing a removal

When a tree comes down, the yard doesn’t have to stay emptier. We plant successors that fit the space better than what was lost.

Value that compounds

Mature trees are one of the few upgrades that grow. A well-chosen tree planted today is quietly working on your property value every season.

•Planting Days

Small trees, long plans.

Every planting is a bet on the next few decades, we stack the odds properly. Tap any photo for a closer look, or see the full gallery on Our Work.

•How It Goes

Right tree, right hole, real start.

Three decisions on day one determine whether a tree thrives, we get all three right.

01

Choose for here

Species picked for your soil, space, and Southern Alberta’s swings, not whatever the lot had too many of.

02

Plant it properly

Root flare at grade, the pot’s circling roots corrected, staked only if the site demands it, and never forever.

03

Set it up to survive

A first-seasons watering plan, mulch where it helps, and a young-tree structure prune scheduled when it’s time.

•Good Questions

Asked before most plantings.

Something else on your mind? Ask us directly for straight answers, no runaround.

Spring and fall are the honest windows, cool enough that the tree puts energy into roots instead of fighting the heat. Fall planting is underrated here: the root system gets a head start and the tree wakes up already established.

Ones bred for zone 3 reality: hardy maples and lindens, ornamental crabapples, spruce and pine for shelter, and prairie-proven natives. What we won’t plant is the fragile ornamental that looks great for two summers and dies in the third chinook cycle, the species short-list comes matched to your yard.

More than a lawn sprinkler gives it, less often than most people think, deep, slow soaks that push roots downward, tapering over the first seasons. You get a simple schedule for your tree and soil, not a generic pamphlet.

That’s our favourite kind of job. We already know the site, the stump gets ground deep for the changeover, and the new tree goes in properly offset with fresh soil. One crew, start to finish, and the yard ends up better than before the removal.

•From Our Neighbours
“You came by twice to check out the job and really gave great advice on the job at hand as well as future re-planting care and suggestions on replacement trees.”
